Job description

Clinical Pharmacy Technician

This is a full-time position Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-6:30 pm.

Position Summary

The Clinical Pharmacy Technician supports the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care by coordinating and processing medication prior authorizations for patients across all Aza Health (AH) primary care locations. This role ensures patients have timely access to essential therapies by navigating insurance requirements, communicating with payers, and collaborating with providers and pharmacists to overcome barriers to medication access. The Clinical Pharmacy Technician serves as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and pharmacies to streamline medication access while maintaining compliance with all AH policies, payer requirements, and federal regulations. This position reports to the Clinical Pharmacy Services Coordinator.

Education And/Or Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of pharmacy technician experience required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in PA processing, insurance billing, or working in a managed care setting required.
  • Experience in a community health center, FQHC, or ambulatory care/primary care clinic strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and payer portals required.

Certificate And Licenses

  • Active pharmacy technician license/registration with the Florida Board of Pharmacy.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or equivalent preferred.
  • Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv) preferred, not required.
