Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and familiarity with packaging design software and print production processes are typically required. These abilities are crucial to creating compelling packaging that attracts consumers and aligns with brand strategy in the competitive consumer packaged goods market.

What is the difference between Cpg Graphic Designer vs Packaging Designer?

Work EnvironmentAdvertising agencies, CPG companiesPackaging firms, manufacturing companies
Industry UsageConsumer Packaged Goods marketingProduct packaging and branding

While both roles involve graphic design skills and work within the consumer goods industry, a Cpg Graphic Designer focuses on creating visual assets for marketing and branding of consumer packaged goods, whereas a Packaging Designer specializes in designing the physical packaging of products. The roles often overlap but differ mainly in their primary focus: marketing versus product packaging.

What are some unique challenges faced by CPG graphic designers compared to other design roles?

CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) graphic designers often navigate the challenge of creating visually compelling packaging that stands out on crowded retail shelves while adhering to strict brand guidelines and regulatory requirements. They must balance creativity with functionality, ensuring their designs communicate essential product information clearly and comply with labeling laws. Collaboration with marketing, product development, and legal teams is frequent, and tight deadlines often require adaptability and excellent project management skills. This environment encourages designers to develop strong communication skills and a deep understanding of consumer behavior, which can open paths toward senior design or brand management roles.

What is a CPG graphic designer?

A CPG Graphic Designer is a professional who specializes in creating visual designs for consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands. Their work includes designing product packaging, branding materials, promotional graphics, and point-of-sale displays that help products stand out on shelves and attract consumers. They combine creativity with an understanding of marketing and consumer behavior to ensure the packaging not only looks appealing but also communicates the brand message effectively. CPG Graphic Designers often collaborate closely with marketing teams, product managers, and printers to bring designs from concept to reality.

PS SEASONING & SPICES INC

Richfield, WI โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Re-posted 14 days ago

Job description

At PS Seasoning, our craft is flavor. A four-generation strong company, we believe that the best recipes are passed down from one generation to the next. From the award-winning food products we make to the customers we serve, our commitment to excellence is the foundation of everything we do.

Just like the recipes we create, our team is only successful with a foundation of key ingredients: Customer Focus, Development, Family, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence. Since our inception in 1986, we’ve cultivated a culture of support, togetherness, respect, loyalty and family values. When you join the PS team, you’re part of a family and part of our recipe for success.

Make Your Mark on Brands People Are Passionate About

At PS Seasoning and Pro Smoker, we're not just making spices and smokers — we're fueling backyard legends, pitmaster champions, and food lovers across the country. Our products live on shelves, in kitchens, and at the center of some of the best meals people ever eat.

We're looking for a Graphic Designer who brings both craft and creativity to every project — someone who can design a jaw-dropping product label just as confidently as they build out an Amazon storefront or a trade show booth. If you love the idea of seeing your work on retail shelves, in email inboxes, and across digital marketplaces, this is the role for you.

What You'll Do

You'll be the creative engine behind two growing brands, working across every touchpoint where design matters:

Packaging & Labels — Design retail and foodservice packaging from concept to production-ready files. You'll own die lines, print specs, regulatory accuracy, and digital mockups for innovation pitches and internal approvals.

Print & Marketing Collateral — Build catalogs, sell sheets, trade show graphics, signage, and sales decks that help our team win in the field and on the floor.

Digital & E-Commerce — Create assets for our websites, email campaigns, Amazon listings, A+ content, and digital ads. You'll design everything from homepage banners to enhanced brand storefronts.

Social & Campaigns — Support product launches, seasonal promotions, and brand campaigns with scroll-stopping digital creative.

Internal Communications — Design visuals that keep our team informed, engaged, and proud of where they work.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of graphic design experience spanning print, packaging, and digital
  • Expert-level Adobe Creative Suite skills (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign required)
  • Hands-on experience with packaging production — die lines, print specs, and regulatory content
  • A strong eye for typography, layout, color, and visual hierarchy
  • Experience designing for e-commerce and digital platforms
  • Familiarity with AI-powered design tools and workflows
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects without dropping the ball on quality or deadlines
  • A portfolio that shows range — packaging to digital, polished to playful
  • Ability to work 5 days a week onsite at our facility in Richfield, WI. This position will relocate to our new facility in West Bend, WI in late 2027.

Bonus Points For:

  • CPG, food, or manufacturing industry experience
  • Shopify or Klaviyo experience
  • Familiarity with FDA/USDA labeling requirements
