ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Do

Lead an underwriting team supporting Retail agency partnerships while overseeing performance and execution across the portfolio.

Work with leadership and distribution partners to support business growth, maintain agency relationships, and ensure consistent underwriting practices.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Build and maintain relationships with key Retail agency partners to support submission activity and improve business mix
  • Support underwriting planning by working with leadership and communicating direction to the team
  • Handle higher-level referrals from underwriting supervisors and assist with complex accounts
  • Monitor submission and renewal volume, team productivity, and service level performance
  • Review workflows and assess staffing needs, including coordinating training for new and existing team members
  • Review quality control results to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Work with teams to ensure underwriting policies and procedures remain accurate and up to date
  • Participate in agency meetings, internal meetings, and industry events as needed
QualificationsWhat You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience required
  • Professional insurance designations such as AU, API, CIC, or CPCU preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience
  • Advanced knowledge of property and casualty underwriting practices, risk assessment, and coverage evaluation
  • Familiarity with insurance policy language and forms
  • Experience using data and performance metrics to inform underwriting decisions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Work across teams and maintain internal working relationships
  • Demonstrated independent work, sound judgment, and attention to detail
  • Experience reviewing or improving workflow processes
