Job description

Job Title: Anatomic & Clinical Pathologist – Surgical Pathology Focus
Location: Northeast United States


Overview

A well-established, Great Place to Work certified pathology practice invites applications for a full-time AP/CP pathologist. This is an opportunity to join a high-quality, collegial diagnostic group with state-of-the-art facilities and a collaborative, team-oriented culture committed to diagnostic excellence and patient care, located in a beautiful town near metropolitan New York.


Key Responsibilities

  • Examine and interpret tissue sections, body fluids, and secretions using light, electron, and fluorescence microscopy
  • Diagnose disease from tissue, fluid, and other specimens and provide written pathology reports to treating physicians
  • Consult with referring physicians on test ordering, interpretation, and clinical management
  • Perform gross examination, dissection, and description of specimens
  • Participate in intradepartmental meetings, proficiency testing, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to education of laboratory personnel, students, and residents as applicable
  • Maintain compliance with CAP, CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and all applicable state and federal regulations
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities as needed

Candidate Qualifications

Required:

  • MD or DO with completion of an approved AP or AP/CP residency
  • BC/BE by the American Board of Pathology or American Osteopathic Board of Pathology
  • Eligibility for applicable state medical licensure(s)
  • Successful completion of pre-employment visual color discrimination testing

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $300,000–$400,000, commensurate with experience and subspecialty training
