Job description

Responsible work supervising the operation of County Security Officers. Supervises, inspects, and trains County Security Officers staffing County facilities during an assigned shift and ensures that all policies and procedures established for the Department are carried out by subordinates. Work is to be accomplished by visiting and inspecting all County facilities staffed by subordinates. Work is reviewed through daily oral and written reports and by observation of operational effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:
• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of five (5) years of security experience (including guard service or law enforcement), two (2) of which were in a supervisory capacity.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Qualified applicants MUST:
• Possess a current, State of Florida Class D Security Guard License
OR
• Obtain a State of Florida Class D Security Guard License within 90 days of appointment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:
• Military/law enforcement experience, and
• Bi/trilingual (English/Spanish/Creole).
