Job description

Normandy Schools Collaborative is seeking Safety and Secuirty Officer(s) to maintain reasonably safe and secure teaching and learning environments for our students, faculty and staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUCTIONS
  • Patrolling
    • Checks students for proper hall passes
    • Escorts students to the office for inappropriate behavior
    • Supervision of students outside of the classroom
    • Conducts periodic checks of grounds and buildings and performs surveillance activities as directed
    • Notifies office personnel of problems with vehicles (i.e., improperly parked, light on, etc)
  • Student Management
    • Monitors student behavior and enforces school rules related to student conduct, vehicle operation, and parking
    • Resolves conflict or confrontations between students and reports disturbances to principal or designee
    • Assists school Administration in matters of safety and security as requested
    • Controls traffic and parking on campus grounds
  • Others
    • Assists law enforcement personnel as needed, on matters of crime and delinquency
    • Notifies police, fire department, or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate attention
    • Assists visitors, giving directions and needed information
    • Provides security at extra-curricular activities
    • Attends training sessions and performs other needed duties, as assigned
    • Performs any other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Safety and Security

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year job related experience
  • Must have, or the ability to obtain a valid St. Louis County Security Officer's license
