We are currently seeking a full time Registered Nurse to join our team at Floyd County Jail located in Rome, Georgia.

About this position:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing care for and treating detainees in a correctional setting. Correctional nurses administer both routine and emergency medical care and treat acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
Education/Certifications

  • Graduate from a nationally accredited registered nursing program
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of employment or ability to obtain license
  • Current Basic Life Support
Job Type: Full Time
  • Correctional nursing experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
Available shift:
  • 12 hour Shifts
  • 6A-6P - Day Shift
  • 6P-6A - Night Shift
General Duties: included but not limited to:
  • Seeing patients for medical complaints, both acute and chronic
  • Performing 14-day physicals on all patients
  • Managing their chronic medical conditions by monitoring labs and medication efficiency
  • Working with the dentist to ensure that our patients oral care is addressed
  • Responding to medical emergencies
  • Working hand in hand with physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and correctional staff who all have the same goal of optimal patient care
  • Excellent communication skills-verbal and written; Ability to concisely communicate situations or needs effectively with sites and GENESYS Health Alliance Corporate Managers
  • Computer proficiency required-email, document exchange, excel, etc.
