Gilbane is seeking a Risk Management Director to be responsible for project and subcontractor risk assessments, program traction, and Business Unit (BU) support across the entire Enterprise. The Director maintains relationships with Division Leaders and Regional Presidents and manages all Risk Managers. This role can sit in any of Gilbane's offices or work remotely.

Responsibilities
  • Oversees, coaches, develops, and trains all risk managers; responsible for the career development and coaching of team members
  • Supports all Gilbane CCIP, SDI, and Builders Risk sales for the company
  • Tracks sales goals, traction, and success of the program placements
  • Manages CCIP pursuits in coordination with the Insurance team
  • Manages SDI pursuits with the SDI & Prequal Director
  • Oversees Sr Risk Managers in client proposals and pricing exercises
  • Maintains relationships with operations at the senior leadership level including BU Leaders, Operations Managers, Division Leaders, and Regional Presidents
  • Supports Risk Managers when meeting with project owners on key pursuits to present Gilbane's risk management services and programs
  • Assists Gilbane Insurance Groups (GIG) leadership team in department strategy planning and goals as well as staff succession strategies
  • Interprets and translates the organizational strategy, ensuring team understanding of their role in accomplishing strategic goals
  • Supports new technology initiatives that mitigate or help analyze Gilbane's risk
  • Assists with company initiatives that impact GIG including updates to Baseline, contract templates, and GIG processes and procedures with direction from the GIG Department Head
  • Informs Sr Director and GIG Department Head of all Risk Management matters and obtains approvals as needed
  • Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 15+ years of experience in risk management, underwriting, and/or brokerage services required
  • Architecture, engineering, and construction industry experience preferred
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to coordinate and manage efforts involving individuals from different geographic areas as well as external partners

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

The pay ranges from $160,000-$245,000 plus benefits and retirement program.
