Job description

Summary of Position:
Chicago Metropolitan Stone Fabricators is looking for a dedicated Granite Countertop Installation Team (2-3 people) who is eager to take on new opportunities and continue to improve their skillsets! Our team is dedicated to providing quality training to ensure that all employees feel safe and comfortable with the work they are performing each day.
The Granite Countertop Installation team is responsible for installing countertops in kitchens, bathrooms, and bars. This position is a contractor position, and the installation team will be compensated $6.00 a square foot installed, with a minimum of 100 square feet per day. Each installation team must provide their own tools, truck, and insurance. A regular log/schedule of work will be provided Monday - Friday to ensure a steady workflow.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
● Countertop installation/repair process knowledge.
● Can read a tape measure to the 16th inch.
● Ability to lift heavy objects.
● Ability to carefully load/transport countertops in a truck to ensure they remain free of any damage.
● Can ensure that the use of all time, materials, and supplies are reported accurately.
● Ability to understand the needs/direction of the client, and ensure customer satisfaction.
● Understand the importance of time management to ensure that all clients needs are met within the given project timeframe.
● Other duties as assigned by your manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
● Ability to recognize flaws within a workflow and problem-solve to find a creative solution.
● Can read a detailed shop sheet/ticket with measurement specifications to check dimensions, drawings, form,
fit and function of countertops.
● Ability to remain focused on the task at hand and meet deadlines to ensure that customer orders are fulfilled to
exact specifications.
● Must be able to exhibit great attention to detail, and communicate with fellow employees and customers in a professional manner.
● Having a thorough understanding of safe in-field operations.
● Ability to learn how to operate the necessary machinery and hand tools needed to complete customer installations.
● Capacity to work in a team environment in order to creatively/safely solve problems as they arise.
Minimum Qualifications:
● Have a valid driver's license to ensure safe transportation of materials
● 1 year of countertop installation or production experience.
