Working closely with General Counsel and Legal Administration teams, the Conflicts Manager will oversee the Firm's conflicts and new business intake process, with a primary focus on reviewing conflict search results, making preliminary conflicts determinations, and preparing clear recommendations for attorney review and approval. The ideal candidate will have meaningful law firm conflicts experience.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and support the Firm's conflicts clearance and new business intake process for new matters, new clients, related parties, and new hires.
  • Review conflicts search results, analyze potential issues, and make preliminary conflicts determinations for attorney review, approval, and/or further direction.
  • Evaluate current and former client conflicts, adverse parties, corporate affiliations, subsidiaries, related entities, and other party relationships that may require additional review.
  • Prepare concise summaries of conflicts findings, risk considerations, recommended next steps, and approval requirements for attorneys, the General Counsel, and/or other members of the Firm.
  • Coordinate with attorneys and administrative teams to obtain missing information, clarify party relationships, track approvals, and document final determinations.
  • Escalate significant, unresolved, or sensitive conflicts issues in accordance with Firm procedures and applicable ethical obligations.
  • Maintain accurate conflicts records, including determinations, attorney approvals, waivers, screens, and related resolution documentation within Firm systems and files.
  • Help develop and refine conflicts procedures, templates, quality control practices, training materials, and process improvements.
  • Provide guidance and training to Conflicts Analyst and other team members regarding conflicts research, analysis, documentation, and escalation practices.
  • Assist with matter opening workflows, conflicts reporting, and other related risk management or intake projects as reasonably assigned.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
  • 5-8+ years of progressive conflicts, new business intake, or risk management experience within a law firm environment.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing conflicts reports and making preliminary conflicts determinations for attorney review and approval.
  • Strong understanding of law firm conflicts analysis, including current and former client conflicts, adversity, substantially related matters, waivers, ethical screens, and escalation considerations.
  • Experience researching and analyzing corporate structures, affiliates, subsidiaries, ownership relationships, and related-party information.
  • Ability to clearly summarize conflicts findings, identify risk considerations, and provide practical recommendations to attorneys, the General Counsel, and/or Firm leadership.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive client, matter, employee, and Firm information.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage urgent requests, competing priorities, and time-sensitive workflows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, Legal Administration, and other team members.
  • Prior supervisory, team lead, training, or workflow management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, conflicts databases, matter management systems, and related law firm technology.
