What is a Costco schedule?

A Costco schedule refers to the work shifts and hours assigned to employees at Costco Wholesale stores. These schedules can vary depending on the department, store location, and employee role, with most stores operating during standard retail hours, including weekends and evenings. Schedules are typically posted weekly or bi-weekly, and employees may have the opportunity to request shift preferences or time off in advance. Flexibility is often required, especially during busy seasons or sales events. Employees can usually view their schedules through an online portal or in-store postings.

How do scheduling and shift patterns typically work for employees at Costco, and what flexibility can I expect?

Costco generally operates on a rotating shift system, with most employees working variable schedules that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. While full-time roles tend to offer more consistent hours, part-time positions often have more variability based on business needs and seniority. Employees can usually request certain days off or shift preferences, but flexibility and willingness to work different shifts are highly valued. Over time, more experienced team members may have greater input into their schedules, and the company strives to post schedules in advance to help employees plan their time.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Costco scheduler, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Costco Scheduler, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in workforce planning, typically supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with scheduling software, timekeeping systems, and Microsoft Office tools is usually required. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability help schedulers effectively manage changes and coordinate with staff. These skills ensure efficient staffing, smooth operations, and high employee satisfaction within the fast-paced retail environment.

Job description

Costco Roadshow

Brand Ambassador

Premium Retail Services Acosta Group

Want a job where you talk to people all day, never sit at a desk, and know by lunchtime whether you're winning?

A Costco roadshow is a pop-up product event inside the warehouse. You build the display, demo the product, and sell it. A show runs about ten days. Then you do it again somewhere new. Between shows you get downtime - great if you want variety instead of a nine-to-five.

What a roadshow looks like

Thursday - setup. Product arrives on pallets. You build the display, stage inventory, and photograph the finished setup. This day is physical.

Friday through Sunday - the heavy days. Warehouse traffic peaks and the show's number gets made. This is why weekend availability isn't negotiable.

Weekdays - steadier. Fewer members, longer conversations.

Final Sunday - teardown. Break down the display, pack out product, and leave the space clean. Then there's a gap before your next show.

What you'll be doing

Set the stage. Build an eye-catching display inside the warehouse that makes members stop and look.

Be the star. Greet members with real energy and show the product like a pro.

Show and tell. Demonstrate the features and benefits in a way that gets people genuinely excited.

Close the sale. Every show carries a sales goal. You'll know the number, and beating it is the whole game.

Stay connected. Log sales and activity in our app. Five minutes a day, and it's how we prove your show's value.

Keep it fresh. Restock, tidy, and keep the display looking sharp from open to close.

Why you'll love it

You are the show. No script and no register. You decide how to open, how to read the person in front of you, and how to close.

Costco members are the best crowd in retail. They're in a good mood, they trust the building, and they came ready to buy something.

The feedback is instant. By noon you know whether today's pitch is working. Change it, and you'll know by two.

You represent brands people want. And you watch your own number climb every single day.

Ready to bring the energy? Apply now - and let's make these roadshows unforgettable.

The honest part

We'd rather tell you now than on day one.

This is a great job for the right person and a rough one for the wrong person. Here's everything else you should know before you apply.

What we expect

You show up for every scheduled shift, on time. Missed and late shifts land on the people who did show up.

You work weekends. Saturday and Sunday carry the volume.

You stand for eight hours on a concrete floor. There are no chairs.

You lift and carry product at setup, teardown, and restock throughout the day.

You follow Costco's rules. Warehouse management has final say and we back them every time.

You log units sold, daily notes, and photos at setup and teardown.

You wear khaki or black slacks, a black or red polo, a belt, and closed-toe shoes.

What you'll need

18 or older, with authorization to work in the United States.

High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the warehouse.

A smartphone that supports our apps - you'll use it daily for scheduling and reporting.

Open availability across the run of a show. Most run 7 to 10 consecutive days.

Weekend availability. This is a requirement, not a preference.

Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation. This is an active role.

Comfort starting conversations with strangers, with the same energy at hour seven as at hour one.

Willingness to complete W-2 onboarding, including any required background check.

Helpful, not required: Selling or product demonstration experience. Bilingual ability is a real advantage in many markets.

This job is not for you if

You need Saturdays and Sundays off.

You want to sit down during your shift.

Approaching strangers drains you rather than energizes you.

You need the same schedule and location every week, year-round.

None of that makes you a bad employee. It makes this a bad fit, and finding out now costs you nothing.

Once you're hired

Your Regional Manager reaches out within one business day to introduce themselves and set your schedule.

You'll get a welcome email with your show details at least five days before your first day.

Roadshows move. Ambassadors who deliver get the first call on the next show in their market.

Bonus:  Some client programs include a performance bonus opportunity for ambassadors who beat their show's sales goal. Availability, targets, and amounts vary by program, and not all assignments include one. If your assignment is bonus-eligible, the terms are provided to you in writing before your first shift.

Schedule:  8-hour shifts   shows run 10 days   weekends required
