Quality Engineers are core delivery team members responsible for the validation of functional and nonfunctional requirements implemented by a team. They are responsible for decomposing the functional and technical requirements created by Product Owners and Systems Analysts into test scripts. Quality Engineers raise defects as issues are identified and support the remediation process with teams.
Costco Travel is looking for a dedicated and experienced Quality Engineer to join its Online Member Experience quality team to help us elevate our team to the next level, while having fun learning new technologies and solving complex problems for our members. The Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for leading several SDETs and QAEs across multiple scrum teams.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Quality Engineer with a track record of delivering quality software solutions and the ability to apply your experience to new areas or have significant experience testing large scale, multi-system integrated applications. This candidates experience will demonstrate that they have a solid understanding of Quality Assurance best practices, know where and when to apply them, and know when flexibility within those guidelines is acceptable. This candidate must have a clear understanding of the software development methodologies and will have consistently delivered high-quality software solutions using various methodologies. This candidate will demonstrate solid technical skills which has served them to find, troubleshoot and research problems and issues and bring them to closure. They will proficiently create and leverage automation processes and procedures as one of the many tools in their QA toolkit.

Job Duties/Essential Functions
• Directs, leads, and removes roadblocks for multiple onshore and offshore teams of quality professionals.
• Mentors and guides members of the team to increase skills and productivity.
• Manages and prioritizes team back-log effectively with QA leadership team.
• Designs and leads implementation of testing processes for continuous improvement.
• Drives adoption of standards and best practices for software testing, test development, and automation.
• Discovers problems, analyzes, and mitigates quality risks.
• Assists in the definition of testing strategies and approaches for complex technical implementations.
• Leads the way by staying up to date with tools, trends, and technologies.
• Measures and reports organization performance against a comprehensive set of quality goals and metrics.
• Partners with peers in IT to develop test processes for CICD as well as meet deadlines and satisfy requirements.
• Provides accurate estimates for projects, including QA resourcing and testing schedules.
• Creates and leverages automation during all phases of the test process using Selenium and Java.
• Collaborates with onshore, offshore, and project team members as needed for project success.

Required:
• Minimum 7 years' software quality assurance experience.
• Minimum 4 years' functional and back-end testing of eCommerce websites or comparable complex systems.
• Minimum 4 years' hands-on experience using industry standard software QA tools including Selenium and Java.
• Minimum 4 years' hands-on experience writing automation to drive end to end and/or API test scenarios.
• Minimum 4 years' working in an Agile environment.
• Experience in a leadership role.
• Experience with at least one database technology, Oracle, MS SQL Server or DB2 and ability to write basic SQL queries.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC and SQA methodology as well as experience testing on an Agile team.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent test resource planning and test scheduling skills.
• Ability to produce effective software test plans and test cases.
• Proven ability to create project testing estimates and deliver on time and on quality.
• High-level understanding of design/development methodologies and project management concepts.
• Ability to work effectively and produce consistent results with minimum supervision.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with ability to communicate with all levels of the organization from senior management down to staff level.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and excellent collaboration skills.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Recommended:
• Understanding of web services, SOAP, REST and XML concepts and technologies.
• Database knowledge in a major RDBMS system such as DB2, MS SQL Server or Oracle.
• Solid understanding of build tools and software configuration management standards.
• Degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Workspace applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Successful internal candidates will have spent one year or more on their current team.

Pay Ranges:
Level 3 - $130,000 - $160,000
Level Senior - $150,000 - $190,000, Bonus and Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) eligible
