Job description

Job Summary
The Operations Analyst will analyze agriculture, production, material inventory, surface and local, juice and chilled volume data in support of the pineapple operating budget, and other business operations decisions, such as pineapple forcing and ripening instructions. Coordinate all aspects of the forcing operations for pineapple.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Analyze and report the collected data for the field operations of fruit estimating, heart cuts, bud counts, and pre- and post-harvesting fruit surveys for managerial decisions.
  • Generate and administer maps detailing forcing and ripening instructions. Aggregate the weekly and periodic field fruit and fruit size estimate for managerial decisions.
  • Support the implementation of the Pineapple Production System (SPP); serves as liaison between Hawaii and Costa Rica. Provides weekly update on completed spray applications, planting data, harvesting increments, and updated forcing schedule . As this program expands to other operations, more data will need to be provided to Costa Rica.
  • Compile the agriculture data needed for the annual operating budgets for the Wahiawa plantation, fresh packing, juice, and chilled cut operations, including variance analyses.
  • Analyze weekly production data and interpret and report production variances.
  • Serve as the point person for all statistical and productivity reports pertaining to pineapple fresh fruit operations.
  • Maintain and analyze the inventory account for agricultural materials.
  • Prepare the periodic recurring journal entries for Costa Rica.
  • Serve as the back-up for the Fresh Operations Logististics Administrator when they are not in the office.
  • Support the accounting department with accounting-related reports.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agriculture Economics or a related field preferred
  • Five years of progressive experience in agriculture or business discipline.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) required.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license is required.
  • Overtime and weekend work as required.
