Job description

ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Maritime team at our Costa Mesa HQ, supporting the Dive XL extra-large unmanned underwater vehicle (XLUUV). In this role, you will focus on the system-level integration and electrical architecture of the vehicle, defining critical system interconnects and designing 3D CAD wire harnesses that bind our electronic subsystems together. You will collaborate closely with software, firmware, and mechanical engineers to bring these complex systems to life, utilizing lab equipment and debugging tools to troubleshoot issues across the hardware-software boundary. This role requires a hands-on engineer with strong organizational skills who can manage timelines and budgets to deliver reliable, ruggedized electrical systems for a pressurized subsea environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Drive the development and design of innovative electrical systems and products that meet the unique requirements of our company.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software, firmware, and mechanical engineers, to drive the development, design, and integration of electrical systems.
  • Develop system interconnect diagrams and define wire harnesses that connect electronic equipment within the platform.
  • Perform detailed electrical calculations, simulations, and testing to evaluate system performance and optimize efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot issues that span the electrical and software boundaries, with solid skills using both lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, DMM, etc.) and software debugging tools.
  • Hold and deliver to project timelines, milestones, managing your time and budgets to achieve successful project outcomes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 3 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with or proficient in 3D CAD wire harness routing, such as (NX, Siemens Capital, CATIA, CREO)
  • Comfortable with a variety of electronic CAD tools (Altium preferred, Eagle and others acceptable)
  • Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, USB, etc.
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities, with a demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and adapt to diverse and evolving challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with fast paced environment best practices, including agility, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience designing electrical and power systems for unmanned vehicles.
  • Experience in the subsea or maritime domain
  • Experience working on defense programs and familiarity with current Defense standards
  • Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, FPGA devices and technologies.
