Job Title: Cost Accounting Manager
Experience Required: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. CPA or CMA designation preferred

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cost Accounting Manager to lead and strengthen the company’s manufacturing cost accounting function. This role is responsible for standard costing, inventory valuation, stock provision calculations, variance analysis, month-end close support, and partnering with operations leadership to improve financial performance and cost visibility across the manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with extensive manufacturing costing experience, strong technical accounting knowledge, ERP system expertise, and a CPA designation. This position will play a key role in driving accurate financial reporting, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Accounting amp; Manufacturing Finance

  • Manage all aspects of standard cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Analyze material, labor, overhead, scrap, and production variances.
  • Monitor manufacturing KPIs and operational performance metrics.
  • Stock obsolescence and provision accounting with accurate aging data.
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, and plant leadership to improve cost controls and profitability.
  • Develop financial models and cost analyses to support pricing and operational decisions.
  • Commissions calculations and support
  • Provide ad hoc support to the DFC/FP amp;A Director when required.

Financial Reporting amp; Technical Accounting

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and company accounting policies.
  • Percentage of completion calculations for revenue
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses.
  • Assist with audit support and documentation for external auditors.
  • Evaluate and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting accuracy.
  • Support internal controls related to inventory and manufacturing accounting.

Systems amp; Process Improvement

  • Utilize ERP systems to manage costing and reporting functions.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and process improvements.
  • Assist with ERP implementations, upgrades, or system enhancements as needed.
  • Improve reporting capabilities and operational visibility through data analytics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in standard costing and inventory accounting
  • Experience with ERP systems in manufacturing operations
  • Experience with IFRS and technical accounting principles
  • Advanced Excel and Financial Analysis
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with finance and operations teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Multi-site manufacturing experience
