Job description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the General Ledgers for the Ground Force Albuquerque location; month-end close, and preparing monthly financial and cost accounting reports, schedules, and reconciliations. Starting wage range $68,000 to $78,000 DOE. **This is a non-remote, 100% in office, position**

The Senior Accountant is also responsible for ad hoc reporting and financial analysis. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will support the Assistant Controller with Budgeting, Forecasting, Treasury, Management Reporting, researching accounting issues for compliance with US GAAP, and special projects as needed

Job Description
Successful incumbents will have advanced understanding and ability to apply US GAAP; research guidance and prepare position papers. The Senior Accountant will demonstrate leadership and build and maintain positive and effective working relationships with customers, financial institutions, professional service providers, tax authorities, employees, and others.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Month-end close, including, but not limited to: general journal entries, amortization and depreciation schedules, accruals and reconciliations, revenue recognition, inventory, cost of goods sold, and work-in-process adjustments, all in accordance with US GAAP.
  2. Accounts Receivable Processing. To include evaluating customer requests for new or additional credit; monitor customer accounts.
  3. Ad hoc reporting, intercompany accounting, and standard costing. Support the Assistant Controller with budgeting, domestic and international banking, foreign exchange, tax compliance and planning, insurance policy management, and international regulatory compliance.
  4. Perform other duties, assignments and special projects as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant field, preferred;
  • Minimum of four (4) years progressively responsible and relevant experience required; experience in a manufacturing environment preferred;
  • Able to design organized, neat, and professional presentations, and other reports;
  • Detail oriented and well organized; able to prioritize workload and consistently meet deadlines;
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, tactfully, and professionally both verbally and in writing;
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality;
  • Internally motivated and able to work independently; able to define problems and propose solutions;
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required;
