Job description

Cost Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our finance team. This role focuses on cost analysis, job costing, profitability reporting, and financial support across a growing multi-division organization. The Cost Accountant will help improve financial visibility, strengthen cost controls, and support operational decision-making.

What You’ll Own

Maintain and analyze job costing, cost allocations, and profitability reporting
Prepare inventory valuation, cost forecasting, and variance analysis
Analyze labor, materials, overhead, and operational expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities
Support month-end close activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and margin analysis
Partner with operations and leadership to improve cost controls and reporting accuracy
Support ERP/accounting system workflows and data integrity
Assist with audit support, compliance, and internal control initiatives

 What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of accounting or cost accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial analysis
Experience with job costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
Experience in construction, IT, project-based, or multi-division environments is a plus
