Job description

Assistant Manager, Product Marketing

Milani Cosmetics is built on a simple belief: beauty should feel exceptional, every day. For more than 20 years, that principle has guided the brand's mission to raise the standard of mass beauty. Working with trusted suppliers in Italy, South Korea, the US and beyond, Milani creates formulas with premium ingredients, rich pigments and meticulous detail; products designed to exceed expectations.

Today, Milani has built a cult following as the #7 U.S. mass color cosmetics brand, the third fastest- growing brand and the only independent brand in the top 10. Milani is known for its best-selling Baked Blush, crafted through a unique baking process on Italian terracotta tiles, along with Make it Last Setting Spray Original, the #1 ranked mass setting spray. The brand's products feature premium skin-loving ingredients and technologies such as guava fruit extract, blue algae, chamomile, glycerin and niacinamide, and all products are proudly cruelty-free. For Milani, what's inside matters, which is why every product is made with ingredients worthy of the consumers who wear them.

What's Inside is Everything!

Milani is seeking a detail-oriented and product-obsessed Assistant Manager, Product Marketing to support the full go-to-market lifecycle - from early-stage concepting and positioning to executional launch planning and post-launch analysis.

This role reports to the Senior Manager of Brand & Product Marketing and plays a critical part in driving product excellence through competitive insights, cross-functional project management, and consumer-forward storytelling.

The ideal candidate is energized by category dynamics and product innovation, highly comfortable interpreting data, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

We're looking for someone who has entrepreneurial energy, a passion for beauty, and a sharp curiosity about the consumer - what they want, how they shop, and where we can surprise and delight them.

Responsibilities:

  • Own day-to-day project management of end-to-end product launches - from concept kick-off to in-market activation - in partnership with Product Development, Creative, Sales, and Operations.
  • Develop and maintain product marketing documents including briefs, timelines, GTM calendars, pitch decks, and asset trackers.
  • Write clear, compelling creative briefs for packaging, componentry, and copy that translates product benefits into consumer language.
  • Lead competitive audits of product features, pricing, and claims to identify category trends and white space opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on GTM asset, ensuring content is aligned with product strategy and retail priorities.
  • Conduct post-launch reviews including sales performance, retailer feedback, and consumer sentiment, synthesizing findings to help inform future planning.
  • Act as the internal product expert, bringing category and positioning insights into cross-functional discussions and strategy.
  • Track progress against key launch milestones and ensure all stakeholders are informed at each stage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field.
  • 3+ years in product marketing, brand management, or category management - ideally in beauty, CPG, or adjacent consumer verticals.
  • Strong understanding of the go-to-market process, from concept to shelf.
  • Ability to distill competitive research and consumer insights into clear product recommendations.
  • Highly organized, with a demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional timelines, project briefs, and multiple workstreams.
  • Strong analytical skills: understanding of sales forecasting concepts and basic P&L structure is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Asana) required.
  • Passion for the beauty industry and Milani's mission of inclusivity and accessibility.

Benefits

  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Retirement Plan (401k w/ Company Match)
  • Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)
  • Generous Vacation Time Policy
  • Family Leave
  • Short Term & Long-Term Disability
  • Flexible Work Environment / Hybrid (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday required on site in Milani's Culver City Office)
  • Dog-Friendly HQ

Compensation:

The base salary range represents the low and high end of Milani's salary range for this position. Salaries will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to location, education, skills, and experience. The base salary range for this role is $73,000.00 to $85,000.00.
