Job description

Title: Process Engineer
Reports to: Sr. Process Engineer
Department: Operations - Manufacture Management
Responsibility Summary: The Process Engineer will develop, maintain & document robust manufacturing & fill/assembly procedures based on formulation & equipment. Lead in the making of pilot, 1st production & validation batches along with Compounding Manager, R&D Chemist & customer (if applicable). Participate in line trials along with Production Manager, BOM Coordinator & Customers (if applicable).
Responsibilities:
The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting the company's business events through a variety of tasks, including:
  • Provide process engineering and oversight for technical transfer / scale-up of pilot / first production batch.
  • Coordinate of lab activities to include customer involvement in new products first production, R&D interaction, manufacturing and quality control. Resolve process deviations and non-conformance.
  • Conduct process development experiments in laboratory scale.
  • Write / revise manufacturing procedure.
  • Support daily batching which includes troubleshooting in-process batch adjustment and optimizing existing processes.
  • Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
  • Conduct validation of OTC products. Assist R&D and QC with formulation and Quality Control issues.
  • Set up necessary equipment for successful product transfer. Perform special project of sourcing and improving existing equipment.
  • Develop & conduct IQ/OQ/PQ, as needed.
  • Support filling operations, prepare Fill and Assembly Instructions, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications:
  • Chemistry or Chemical (or Mechanical) Engineering Degree.
  • 5+ yrs experience in a manufacturing of color cosmetics or personal care items.
  • Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point).
  • Superior communication skills (Spanish a plus).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10-15 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits:
The approximate pay range for this position is $55,000 - $70,000. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities.
