Senior Software Engineer – Python, SQL, Snowflake, Cortex AI

Location: Richmond, VA or Atlanta, GA Type: Contract (W2 / 1099) – through December 2027 Employment: No C2C / No third-party vendors Openings: 2 Interview: Immediate

About the Role  hiring Senior Software Engineers to build data-driven and AI-enabled applications on Snowflake for a healthcare client. You will develop Python services and data workflows and leverage Snowflake Cortex AI (LLM functions, Cortex Search, Cortex Analyst) to deliver intelligent features.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build Python applications, APIs, and data workflows on Snowflake
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL, Snowpark, and stored procedures
  • Implement AI/ML features using Snowflake Cortex AI (LLM functions, vector search, RAG patterns)
  • Build Streamlit or API-based interfaces on top of Snowflake data
  • Write clean, tested, production-grade code and participate in code reviews
  • Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and product owners in Agile sprints

Required Skills

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python skills
  • Advanced SQL and hands-on Snowflake development (Snowpark, UDFs, stored procedures, tasks/streams)
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake Cortex AI or comparable LLM/GenAI application development
  • Experience building REST APIs (FastAPI, Flask, or similar) and working with CI/CD
  • Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-native development
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Healthcare data experience (claims, clinical, HIPAA-regulated environments) is a plus
  • Streamlit, vector embeddings, RAG, or prompt engineering experience
