Job description

Responsibilities
  • Leads a team and works safely following all related policies and programs to ensure a safe working environment while accepting feedback from others and giving appropriate recognition to others.
  • Responsible for correct reporting of time, production and material usage.
  • Set-up of the machine including preparing materials, prints and mounting cylinders.
  • Use of computer equipment to enter information relating to the production run including job information, measurements etc.
  • Perform quality checks.
  • Report irregularities, maintenance needs and quality problems to the team Supervisor and/or Production Manager.
  • Assists the machine crew in running, changing over, starting up and cleaning up the machine.
  • Checks raw materials on hand against what is needed for each production run to ensure shortages are prevented.
  • Using a ruler, verify dimensions on material to ensure a quality product.
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and make recommendations on improving processes.
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly.
  • Written and oral communication skills is required.
  • Other job tasks and projects as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position will supervise a small team as assigned. These responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work to be completed.
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 2-3 years prior experience operating a machine in a manufacturing environment, corrugated box experience preferred.
  • Experience leading a small team or group.
  • Good human relations skills and strong verbal communication skills are required.
Physical Demands
Employees are frequently required to stand and repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers to handle, feel and/or reach product. Employees are occasionally required to walk, climb, or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
