POSITION SPECIFICS

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar under the direction of Dr. Derek Hall

Job duties include:

  • Conduct laboratory testing, perform data analysis, and develop the technical content needed to communicate the study findings

  • Responsibilities include executing corrosion experiments under simulated operating and offline conditions, analyzing results from advanced characterization methods such as X-ray computed tomography, interpreting corrosion behavior across different treatment conditions, and preparing figures, summaries, presentations, and technical reports

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in corrosion science, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field by the start date

  • Experience conducting laboratory-based experimental research

  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills

  • Experience preparing technical reports, figures, and presentations

  • Experience with x-ray CT characterization
