Job Description Summary
Design and teach American Government courses to diverse students in a correctional center environment.
Duties
1. Plan and implement course relevant to delivery method and length of course.
2. Maintain records for attendance, submit grades, and stay current with planned course outcomes and assignments.
3. Maintain good communication with department chairperson, lead instructor, peers, students, and correctional center staff.
4. Follow departmental standards for the course.
5. Follow all North Carolina Department of Adult Correction rules and guidelines
Minimum Requirements
1. Master's degree in Political Science OR a Master's degree in a relevant area with 18 graduate semester hours in Political Science
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience teaching in community college or other higher education institution.
2.. Experience teaching in a correctional center.
3. Experience using Moodle or other Learning Management System.
