Corporate Tax Manager
Cherry Hill, NJ
Permanent | On-Site (Hybrid flex once ramped)
Soni's client is seeking a Corporate Tax Manager to lead the organization's corporate tax compliance, tax accounting, tax planning, and tax risk management functions. This highly visible role will serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and business partners, providing technical expertise on complex tax matters while ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and supporting strategic business initiatives. The ideal candidate is a collaborative tax professional with strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience managing corporate tax operations in a complex environment.
Responsibilities of the Corporate Tax Manager:
  • Lead corporate income tax compliance and reporting processes
  • Review tax returns, workpapers, calculations, and supporting documentation prepared internally or by external advisors
  • Oversee tax accounting and financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Conduct tax research and prepare technical memoranda supporting tax positions and business transactions
  • Manage tax audits, inquiries, notices, and other tax controversy matters
  • Coordinate tax payment processes and ensure compliance with filing and reporting requirements
  • Identify and implement tax planning opportunities to optimize the organization's tax position
  • Analyze the impact of legislative and regulatory tax changes on the business
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Operations, and other business functions to support strategic initiatives and transactions
  • Develop and maintain effective tax controls, processes, and documentation
  • Monitor tax risks and provide recommendations to mitigate potential exposures
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tax processes and operational efficiency

Requirements of the Corporate Tax Manager:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field
  • CPA, Chartered Accountant (CA), or equivalent professional certification preferred
  • Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting is a plus
  • 8+ years of progressive corporate tax experience
  • Experience within a public accounting firm and/or corporate tax department
  • Experience supporting complex organizations with multiple entities, business lines, or jurisdictions
  • Strong knowledge of corporate income tax compliance, tax accounting, tax planning, and tax reporting
  • Experience managing federal, state, local, and/or international tax matters
  • Strong tax research, technical writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, project management, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex tax matters while influencing cross-functional business partners

Compensation: $130,000 - $140,000 + bonus
Compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
