Job description

SC&H Tax & Advisory Services is searching for a Senior Tax Manager or Manager with a strong tax compliance and consulting background to work in our Corporate Tax Services Group. This key person acts as the focal point of contact between our firm and our clients. He/she will lead tax engagement teams on various projects, handle all tax compliance and consulting issues for assigned clients, keep clients abreast of technical tax changes affecting their industry, identify opportunities to cross-sell, look for opportunities to expand tax services, assist with new business development, cultivate and maintain effective relationships with external contacts as well as audit counterparts on mutual audit/tax engagements and will mentor, train and assist senior and staff associates.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions for financial reporting under ASC 740.
  • Manage the preparation and review of consolidated federal, state and local income tax returns and other business related filings.
  • Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
  • Review quarterly/yearly tax projections.
  • Manage and mentor members of tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement.

Qualifications
  • Extensive corporate income tax knowledge including expertise in federal, state and international income taxes
  • Experience planning mergers and acquisitions and purchase accounting for income tax purposes
  • Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • 8+ years of experience in a tax manager or public accountant role and at least 2 years of experience in a management role.
  • Candidates have a current CPA license.

Salary & Benefits
The expected annual base salary for this position is $120,000-$200,000. Salary offers are made based on a variety of candidate specific factors such as candidate's skills, performance, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications and market considerations.
