Who we are looking for:

The Financial Analyst supports the Finance team by assisting with financial reporting, data analysis, budgeting activities, and operational performance tracking. This role is ideal for an early-career professional looking to develop analytical and financial planning skills within a fast-paced mortgage lending environment. The Financial Analyst will work closely with senior analysts and business leaders to gather, analyze, and interpret data that supports informed business decisions and organizational growth. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to learn financial modeling, reporting, and business analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports and dashboards.
  • Support the creation of quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Compile and analyze financial and operational data for management review.
  • Assist in reviewing branch profit and loss statements for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Gather, organize, and maintain large datasets from multiple sources.
  • Perform basic financial analysis and reporting.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and presentations.
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting requests from management and business partners.
  • Help monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
  • Identify trends and anomalies within financial and operational data.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial and reporting data.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather information and support business initiatives.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to mortgage lending.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and analytical projects.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, business analytics, or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Basic understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow within financial planning and analysis.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Tableau, or other reporting tools is preferred but not required.
  • Mortgage banking or financial services experience is a plus.
