Position Overview

Precision Healing Center is seeking a dedicated full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our dynamic team in Worcester, Massachusetts. In this role, you will evaluate and treat patients to assist them in developing, recovering, and enhancing skills necessary for daily living and work. You will work with clients facing various challenges such as mental, physical, developmental, or emotional disabilities, ultimately striving to maximize their independence and enhance their quality of life.

Your practice will be based onsite at our outpatient office in Worcester, where collaboration is a cornerstone of our approach. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team composed of physicians, physical therapists, nurses, and health aides. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patientsโ€™ cognitive, perceptual, and physical abilities and assess their home and work environments to tailor your treatment approach.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that reflect the goals of each patient, fostering a collaborative environment with the patient and their families.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and to fine-tune therapy strategies based on ongoing assessments and feedback.
  • Document treatment plans meticulously to capture progress and ensure compliance with departmental policies, including billing documentation as per guidelines.
  • Supervise the execution of occupational therapy plans by aides, assistants, and students while providing direct patient care as necessary.
  • Act as a resource, offering guidance on community assistance programs, medical equipment availability, and referrals for further care.
  • Engage actively in departmental growth, suggesting modifications to best practices and policies to align with national standards.
  • Participate in departmental committees and collaborative projects that aim to refine our therapeutic approaches and enhance patient outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your clients will vary greatly, encompassing individuals of different ages and backgrounds. You will work primarily with patients recovering from surgeries, trauma, stroke, and those managing chronic conditions affecting their daily functioning. Your role crucially impacts their recovery pathways, promoting autonomy and supporting their holistic wellbeing.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • State licensure as an Occupational Therapist is mandatory.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in occupational therapy principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with an ability to foster efficient teamwork.
  • Demonstrated empathy and a passion for assisting patients to achieve their functional goals.
Preferred Experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in an occupational therapy setting, preferably within rehabilitation or acute care environments.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team where collaboration and shared patient care responsibilities were emphasized.
