Job description

Responsible for providing a high level of expertise in the area of computer systems with full technical knowledge of all phases of its lifecycle. The individual performs the tasks required to analyze, develop and support such systems. As a part of daily activity, the individual engages on production environments by analyzing and identifying root cause and resolving the issue in a timely manner. As a Senior Analyst, candidate works closely with product vendors and Business Analysts to ensure the successful project planning, development and deployment of the final solution.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Complete project assignments in research, analysis, design, coding, testing, troubleshooting and implementation of systems
• Complete assignments on schedule, meeting operational and performance requirements
• Interact with business users to gather and verify business requirements through formal and informal sessions
• Translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements, tests plans and training materials, to be used in formal and informal training sessions.
• Formulate and define systems scope and objectives, devising procedures to solve complex problems considering equipment capacity and limitations
• Ask probing questions to have a full understanding of the scope and scale of the need and come up with sizing of effort
• Participate in review sessions with business sponsor, other stakeholders and IT Development
• Participate actively in the creation of project estimates, and the work plan, tracking progress to plan and adjusting approach to maintain commitments
• Produce excellent, thorough, design and development documentation. Prepare technical documentation according to SDLC methodology
• Develop detailed specification for which programs are written
• Extremely hands-on in building data driven business applications.
• Execute test cases, find and document any and all problems, bugs, or other issues (into a bug database) that affect systems
• Participate in integration system testing and proactively help users in execution of IJAT cycle by documenting resolution in a defect tracking tool
• Interact with business users to gather production defects, analyze and collaborate with the product vendor in production support and new development activities
• Maintain bank's applications in production and support tasks required to resolve production issues in a timely manner
• Support the change management process by documenting requests, evaluating criticality of changes to the business and impact to the project commitments
• Ensure that performance and quality of products conform to established company standards; guidelines; specifications and customer requirements
• Provide best-practices, state-of-the-aft consulting to internal receivers and other systems staff
• Compliance of all Anti-Money Laundering Laws, Bank Secrecy Laws and KYC rules, regulations and the bank's BSA/AML policies and procedures
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field required
• 3+ years or more on project implementation/management experience
• Experience in banking or financial services industry, experience in Private Banking a plus
• 5+ years or more experience in core banking system T24.
• Knowledge in Trade and Investment business.
• Experience in third party software package implementation and support, debugging and trouble shooting. Experience with core banking systems implementation/packages/outsourcing, and interfaces a plus
• Experience on .NET, Visual Studio, SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Repotting Services (SSRS)- Java and Eclipse experience is a plus
• Application troubleshooting / production support experience with Windows Server, UNIX, Linux and AS400 systems, IIS, Tomcat & WebSphere AS/MQ servers, JBoss
• Application troubleshooting / production support experience with batch scheduling tools, services and monitoring
• Knowledge in Web Application (HTTP Server, WebSphere Application Server, Database Server SQL, ODBC, TCP/IP)
• Hands-on experience with source control & release management systems such as TFS, SVN, Git, BitBucket
• Must be proficient with modeling and mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Enterprise Architect, etc.)
• Experience in data warehouse building & maintenance is a plus
• Understanding in SDLC and application software support
• Demonstrated solid application development and support skills on Database modeling and administration, Web development, Systems testing and troubleshooting
• Experience writing unit and system tests
• Solid Problem Solving, Analytical skills and ability to work under little supervision or independently under high pressure production environment
• Good oral and written communication skills in English and strong interpersonal skills to participate effectively in cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to self-manage, deal with ambiguity and to apply problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated success in delivery of multiple critical projects for an Investment Bank (Securities Industry)
• Fluency in English
• Fluency in Portuguese and/or Spanish is desirable
