We're looking for an office specialist to join our team in Prineville! In this role, you will provide administrative and clerical support to the transportation maintenance manager and area crews. You will play a vital part in ensuring the area office and crews comply with district and agency values, policies, procedures and laws. Apply today!

A day in the life:

  • Act as the public contact for the district and region office in person, by phone and by computer.

  • Order supplies, perform general filing and typing, create forms, documents and letters, schedule meetings, make travel arrangements and perform other office support tasks.

  • Maintain confidentiality of general office proceedings and research policies, union contracts, tort claims, public records requests, and cost and expenditure reports.

  • Operate office machines such as computers, copiers, postage meters and scanners.

  • Prepare vendor invoices for payment including appropriate coding and data entry in computer systems.

  • Ensure that all employee payroll entries are correct and timecards are coded correctly.

  • Attend meetings, create meeting agendas, take minutes and distribute materials.

  • Monitor area budgets weekly for overages and report balances regularly to the maintenance manager.

  • Work is performed in an office environment with some overnight travel required.

Minimum qualifications:

Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents.

OR

An associate degree in any field.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience.
