Coordinator Standardized Patient positions are roles within medical or healthcare education programs responsible for organizing and managing standardized patient (SP) activities. Standardized patients are individuals trained to act as patients to help students practice and assess clinical and communication skills in a controlled, realistic environment. The coordinator recruits, trains, and schedules SPs, collaborates with faculty to design scenarios, and ensures the smooth running of simulations. These professionals play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and authenticity of clinical training experiences for learners.

To excel as a Coordinator Standardized Patient, you need strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and a background in healthcare education or administration. Familiarity with simulation management software, scheduling tools, and possibly certifications in healthcare simulation are typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and standardized patients will set you apart. These competencies ensure effective coordination of realistic clinical simulations, supporting high-quality training and assessment for healthcare learners.
