Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The person working as a shipper/receiver will work primarily assisting the cooler manager in moving products to their designation, as well as ensuring products have been packaged appropriately. As a shipper, they will maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for unloading and loading trucks as necessary.
  • Responsible for assisting the manager in ensuring quality control procedures are followed in the cooler.
  • Responsible for assisting the manager with necessary inventory paperwork on the computer.
  • Perform shipping and receiving duties.
  • Must report defective materials or questionable conditions to the cooler manager.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift and power jack.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • High School diploma is preferred, but not required - basic communication and math skills are highly desired.
  • Must report defective materials or questionable conditions to the cooler manager.

  • Capable of performing multiple tasks at once - maintaining inventory, unloading and loading trucks, filling out invoices etc.

  • Capable of ensuring that USDA and Rose Acre quality control standards are followed within the cooler.
  • Capable of ensuring that all safety standards are followed in the facility, and that all accidents are properly documented.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.
  • Must be willing and able to work past the scheduled leave time to complete the job, if needed.
  • Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting.
  • Must maintain professionalism with coworkers.
