Job description

Residential HVAC Lead Installer Carolina Cool | Build It Right. Lead the Way. Have Some Fun Doing It. About the Role

At Carolina Cool, weโ€™re not looking for someone who simply knows how to install HVAC equipment. Weโ€™re looking for a seasoned Residential HVAC Lead Installer who knows how to own a job, lead a team, solve problems, and deliver work theyโ€™re proud to put their name on.

As a Lead Installer, youโ€™re the captain of the job site. From the moment the equipment arrives to the final homeowner walkthrough, youโ€™ll take ownership of the installation and make sure the job gets done safely, efficiently, correctly, and to code.

Youโ€™ll set the pace, keep the crew moving, coach your install helpers, and make sure every system is performing at its best. Youโ€™ll also be a key face of Carolina Cool in our customersโ€™ homes, so professionalism and great communication matter just as much as technical skill.

If youโ€™re the person your teammates turn to when a job gets complicated, you take pride in clean, quality installations, and youโ€™re ready to lead from the front โ€” we want to meet you.

What Youโ€™ll Be Doing
  • Own residential HVAC installations from start to finish โ€” replacements, change-outs, and new installations
  • Review job details before getting started and make sure you have the right equipment, materials, tools, and plan to get the job done
  • Install and replace furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, air handlers, thermostats, and related HVAC equipment
  • Perform duct modifications and ensure proper system design, airflow, and installation
  • Lead, coach, and develop install helpers, helping them build their skills and become stronger technicians
  • Keep the job moving efficiently while maintaining Carolina Coolโ€™s standards for workmanship and safety
  • Verify airflow, refrigerant charge, electrical connections, drainage, controls, and overall system operation
  • Perform system start-ups, commissioning, quality checks, and final inspections
  • Walk homeowners through their new system and make sure they understand how it works
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, comfort advisors, dispatch, management, and other team members
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and respectful of the customerโ€™s home
  • Complete job documentation, photos, and paperwork accurately and on time
  • Troubleshoot issues in the field and find solutions without letting a curveball ruin the day
  • Represent the Carolina Cool brand with professionalism, confidence, and a great attitude
What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • 4+ years of hands-on residential HVAC installation experience
  • Proven experience leading residential installation projects or crews
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC installation practices, system operation, and applicable codes
  • Ability to confidently install and start up residential HVAC systems
  • Experience coaching or training less-experienced installers
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • EPA Certification required
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and clean driving record
  • Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, garages, rooftops, and outdoors in all kinds of weather
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Ability to stay organized and productive while working independently
  • Pride in workmanship โ€” you notice the details others miss
  • A positive, team-first attitude and the ability to keep your cool when the job gets hot
 What Youโ€™ll Get

We believe great people deserve great support. When you join Carolina Cool, youโ€™ll get more than a truck and a tool belt.

  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience
  • Consistent year-round work + overtime opportunities
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Ongoing technical training and professional development
  • Real opportunities for career growth and advancement
  • A supportive leadership team that has your back
  • The tools, resources, and support you need to do the job right
  • A company that values quality, accountability, teamwork, and having a little fun along the way
Why Carolina Cool?

Weโ€™re building a team of people who take pride in their craft, look out for each other, and want to win together. We work hard, we take care of our customers, and we celebrate our people.

If youโ€™re ready to take the lead, build great systems, develop the next generation of installers, and be part of a team that knows how to get the job done โ€” bring your skills to Carolina Cool.

Your next great install starts here. Apply today!
