Cook Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food, using menus in the food service program.

  • Adjust menus to utilize foods in the refrigerator and freezer to prevent waste and spoilage.

  • Monitor refrigerator and freezer temperatures

  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe kitchen environment.

  • Ensure proper storage of food for infection control.

  • Preparing food and plating meals

  • Properly store or discard leftovers, and take out garbage

  • Clean food stations and wash dishes, cooking vessels

  • Stock ingredients and monitor inventory

  • Help maintain kitchen equipment and appliances

  • Operation of kitchen appliances (dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, coffee maker, ice machine, blender, food processor, meat slicer, mixer, etc.)

  • Carry out other duties as assigned.


Cook Qualifications:

  • Willingness to learn and work
