Job description

Position Summary:
The Cook – Food Court/Grill prepares a variety of meats, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.  
 
Qualifications:
 
Education:
  •  High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
  • Three (3) years institutional or restaurant cooking experience required.
  • One (1) year experience working as a line cook in a fast past environment preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • None
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Greet all patients, visitors, and staff members when applicable and provide exemplary customer service.
  • Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, recipes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Will be responsible for stocking and maintaining sufficient levels of food products at line stations, refrigeration and rotation of food items, label food items appropriately, discard any expired or near expired food items, and check and recheck equipment temperature.
  • Other responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing requested food items in accordance to customers’ specifications, following proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes, season and prepare food items for grilling, manage portions of grilled food items and garnish them, and arrange prepared food items in an aesthetic manner.  
  • Effectively utilize strong organizational skills.
  • Consistently display effective verbal communication skills
  • Complete other duties as assigned by department leadership.
