Sorrel River Ranch is a Four Diamond luxury guest ranch located along the scenic Colorado River surrounded by 2,000-foot-high cliffs, buttes and mesas. This exclusive 240-acre riverside oasis is 17 miles from Moab, 21 miles from Arches National Park and 43 miles from Canyonlands National Park. JJ's Mercantile, located along scenic Highway 128, is a country store reminiscent of days gone by. A one-stop-shop for groceries from farm-fresh vegetables, eggs and butter to daily made bread, treats, snacks and necessities along with curated gifts, camping gear and Sorrel River Ranch and JJ's Mercantile branded tees and more.
We are looking for a passionate Cook-Baker to prepare a variety of upscale to-go foods and desserts.
Your skill in crafting a menu, creating delicious sandwiches, wraps, salads, and other grab and go foods, as well as baking high quality treats should be matched by your creativity to develop new amazing tastes and recipes.
The ideal candidate will be well-versed in multiple areas of the culinary arts with a passion for exceeding guests expectations with your creations. They must adhere to health and safety standards to provide clients with the best possible serving.
The goal is to enhance customer satisfaction so that we can maintain and expand our clientele.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Basic kitchen equipment operation: stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, fryers, steamers, kettles, etc.
  • Understanding recipe measurements, requisition amounts and portion sizes.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required in fine dining or upscale restaurant.
  • Culinary or Apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the fundamentals of food preparation and cooking.
  • Working knowledge on accepted standards of sanitation.
  • Ability to work at a rapid pace while maintaining attention to detail; ability to multi-task.
  • Must have good communication.
  • Possesses and exhibits the drive to provide exceptional service.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 50 lbs.
  • Proficient in computer skills including POS systems, Word and Excel.
  • Must be flexible and able to adjust to meeting the changing needs of guests.
  • Must be able to tolerate pressure and work calmly and efficiently during busy times.
  • Must be flexible in schedules working days, nights, weekends, holidays, etc.

Starting rate of pay will be based on level of experience.
