Position Summary
As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment. You may also take on leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and dietary guidelines
  • Ensure meals meet dietary restrictions and special diets (including pureed diets)
  • Maintain kitchen in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition
  • Follow portion control standards and food safety procedures
  • Monitor and record food temperatures
  • Assist with meal service and plating to ensure appealing presentation
  • Supervise kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor
  • Maintain sanitizer solutions and follow cleaning schedules
  • Clean cooking equipment, serving carts, and kitchen areas
  • Collaborate with staff across departments to support resident care
  • Report any resident concerns to leadership
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in a hospital or long-term care setting
  • Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and dietary restrictions
  • Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
