A ranch cook works on food preparation at a ranch. In this career, your responsibilities vary depending on the type of venue at which you work. At a full-service vacation ranch, your duties may revolve around working to assist the ranch chef, while at a smaller place, you may prepare meals for guests on your own. A ranch cook always works in the ranch kitchen. You may plan a menu, cook and plate dishes, and acquire the necessary inventory. You also work on kitchen set-up and clean up after meal service.

Cook Ranch jobs typically involve preparing meals for ranch workers, guests, or events on a ranch. Responsibilities often include planning menus, sourcing and storing ingredients, cooking large quantities of food, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness.
