Job Title: Grill Cook

Position Overview:

As a Grill Cook, you play a critical role in our kitchen, mastering the grill station to deliver perfectly cooked proteins and vegetables that are the centerpiece of many of our dishes. Your precision, timing, and attention to detail will directly impact the guest experience. We’re looking for someone who’s fired up about the art of grilling and ready to own their station with pride and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Master the Grill: Prepare proteins and vegetables to precise temperature and texture using gas or charcoal grills, ensuring flavor, consistency, and presentation align with Queen’s Harbour standards.
  • Maintain Station Excellence: Keep your grill station clean, organized, and fully stocked, upholding all food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Prep with Purpose: Marinate, portion, and prep grill-related items ahead of service to keep the kitchen flowing smoothly.
  • Cook with Confidence: Manage cooking times and temperatures with precision across multiple orders, even during peak hours.
  • Communicate Clearly: Coordinate with other kitchen stations and chefs to ensure timing and plating cohesion.
  • Support the Kitchen: Jump in to assist other stations when needed and contribute to a collaborative, team-first environment.
  • Close Like a Pro: At the end of service, properly shut down and clean the grill area to ensure it's ready for the next shift.

Qualifications:

  • 3- 5 years of culinary experience, with a strong emphasis on grilling techniques (charbroil, sear, rotisserie, etc.)
  • Proficient knife skills and comfort working with high-temperature cooking equipment.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and grill station safety protocols.
  • Ability to stay organized, multitask, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities—you're reliable and easy to work with.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and consistency on every plate.
