Job description

This position is responsible for learning machine operation and ensuring the quality of the bags, following procedures and work instructions.ย Must be familiar with safety regulations and personal protective equipment, as well as the work environment to prevent workplace accidents.ย This position reports to the Conversion Supervisor, Training Department and Human Resources.

DESCRIPTION

  • Application of the Companyโ€™s Core Values in the work environment.
  • Must learn the High Density and Low-Density quality standards.
  • Will learn to interpret the production order.
  • Will learn the general aspects of the machine, including its devices and attachments.
  • Will learn to detect quality issues in the bags and how to correct them promptly to reduce scrap.
  • Will learn operational functions, such as roll changes, operator reports, and all related tasks.
  • Will learn to keep the work area clean and organized, applying 5S principles and following the operator checklist.
  • Pack, close boxes, seal with tape, and properly stack finished pallets when covering a break position.
  • Begin training in correct pallet wrapping procedures and scrap identification.
  • Work as part of a team and support activities as needed by the Company.

COMPETENCIES

  • Manual and analytical skills for decision-making.
  • Documentation skills and calculation of bags per thousand.
  • Proficiency in using mechanical tools.
  • Excellent communication skills (Leadership), as well as proficiency in Excel and the DCU Radius system.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in inspection within the plastic industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand for long periods, move around, and lift boxes weighing 25-50 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work inside the manufacturing plant using personal protective equipment (PPE), with exposure to high and low temperatures and loud noise.
  • Exposure to ammonia odors and dust in the environment.
  • Must have personal transportation to move between locations when necessary.
