One of our clients, a leading manufacturer of filling and packaging systems for beverages and liquid food, is looking to hire a Conversions Project Manager onsite in Waukesha, Wisconsin! This person will work to develop the packaging machine conversions business and deliver accurate, commercially competitive quotations for projects, supports the sales process with technical expertise and manages conversion projects until the machine is installed and accepted.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or a related field
- 3 years of technical experience, ideally in engineering or sales
- Understanding of complex automated capital equipment
- 1 year experience in developing quotations for complex capital equipment
- ERP experience required (SAP preferred)
- Knowledge of technical aspects of packaging machines technology within area of product specialization
- Ability to analyze applications and build appropriate solutions into a competitive proposal
- Ability to work effectively and independently on multiple proposals with limited supervision
Day To Day:
- Reviews Requests for Quotes from sales, after-sales, service personnel or customers
- Analyzes and evaluates customer needs from customer specification sheets, drawings and application requirements.
- Supports and participates in sales process interacting with customers
- Provides support and technical information for sales and service personnel and management
- may visit customer sites to participate in sales presentations and site evaluation
- Develops and provides creative technical solutions for customer packaging problems
- Coordinates with engineering staff who provide engineering services
- Specifies the proper machine, components and/or technology for customer’s application
- Collaborates with other departmental leaders to create technically and financially accurate project estimates
- Utilizing existing pricing structures; accesses information from a variety of sources for costs
- Prepares cost estimates for project impact on customer’s line
- Explains technical functions of machinery and components
- Articulates competitive advantages of equipment compared to competitive machines/parts.
- Prepares proposals and quotations and works with commercial administrative group
- Oversees order confirmation and may execute risk review
- Gathers missing technical information and incorporates into quotation
- Serves as quotation guardian for product specialty
- Follows ISO procedures for sales activity.
- Acts as lead point of customer contact for quotes and orders as needed on behalf of sales staff, regional service managers, or department manager.
- Maintains reference information on specified product line, may keep track of technical updates from competence center
- Depending on product line, plans, directs, and coordinates received orders for projects to ensure that resources are available and that contract obligations are met on time and within budget; coordinates schedules with engineering and manufacturing departments as well as communicating project schedule and status updates to customers.
- Maintains product information that can be referenced on demand by sales personnel and management.
- Tracks and analyzes customer needs, and proposal, sales order activity for management
- May use market information to analyze the product market.
- Visit customers to resolve urgent problems with equipment
Salary of $80-90K base salary
