Summary

Assigns work for Company and owner operator trailer drivers for conveyance of freight by

performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Compiles and maintains list of available drivers.

Assigns trucks according to availability, purpose of trip, and freight.

Issues record sheets, and all related paperwork to drivers.

Trouble shooting and notifying appropriate parties of any changes.

Records time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return.

Investigates overdue vehicles.

Directs activities of drivers by two-way radio.

Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged

merchandise.

Heavy communication with drivers on a daily basis.

Education and/or Experience

Language Skills

Spanish fluency required. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral

instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized

situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel Spreadsheet software and MS Word Processing software and MS Outlook.

Other Skills and Abilities

Must be fluent in Spanish for communication with the driver and owner operators.
