Job description

As Server/ Bartender, you will be responsible for waiting on and serving food to restaurant guests in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.

How will you do this? The following are the essential functions and responsibilities of the job:

  • Greet guests and respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.?

  • Present menu, answers questions and makes suggestions regarding drink, food, and service.

  • Write order on check or memorizes it.

  • Relay and/or enters order into POS system for the kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and/or bar.

  • Observe guests to fulfill any additional requests and to perceive when meal has been completed.

  • Mix and garnish beverages according to recipe and portion control standards.?

  • Present and serve beverages to guests.?

  • Accurately total, process and collect payments from guests to include, but not limited to, using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, making change and processing gift certificates, cards and vouchers.?

  • Stock and maintain the bar to include, but not limited to, beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce?

  • Check guests for proper identification and serve alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with federal, state, local and company laws and regulations.?

  • May assist with plating and delivering meals to guests.?

  • Work with the hotel team to create and deliver a memorable service experience for guests.?

  • Handle guest requests personally and/or refer to another team member as appropriate.?

  • Provide guests with the finest quality of service at all times in a warm and enthusiastic manner.?

  • Maintain a professional image at all times through action, appearance and dress.?

  • May assist kitchen staff by ladling soup, tossing salad, portioning desserts, brewing coffee, and performing other services as determined by needs of the restaurant.

  • Clear and reset counters and tables at conclusion of each guest.

  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.

  • Work with the hotel team to create and deliver a memorable service experience for guests.

  • Handle guest requests personally and/or refer to another team member as appropriate.

  • Provide guests with the finest quality of service at all times in a warm and enthusiastic manner.

  • Maintain a professional image at all times through action, appearance and dress.

  • Follow Company policies and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

  • Knowledge of food service regulations.

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communications skills required

  • Able to maintain positive client relationships.

  • Able to easily and quickly lift and carry heavy trays.

  • Speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language, proficiently. Ability to speak other languages in a multicultural work environment can be extremely helpful in facilitating good communication among all hotel team members.

  • Able to utilize quick thinking and apply quick resolution to guest issues in accordance to the brand standards.

  • Excellent conflict-resolution skills.

  • Able to work in fast paced environment.

  • Able to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks.

GENERAL NOTES

  • Servers will be required to work varying schedules as dictated by the business needs of the hotel. This includes attendance at all scheduled brand and job specific training sessions and meetings. May require nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Consistent attendance in accordance to the standards set forth by Converge Hospitality Group must be maintained and is an essential element of the success in this role. If the Server is unable to meet these requirements, he/she will be subject to disciplinary action based on franchisee operating policies, up to and including termination of employment.
