Job description

Marketing Specialist

CONVENIENCE & ENERGY ADVISORS | DOWNTOWN ST. PETERSBURG, FL | ON SITE

If you have never worked a shift in a convenience store, this career is not for you.

Not because you will be working one here. Because you cannot design what happens inside the four walls if you have never lived it. Loyalty, marketing, offers, the entire relationship between a brand and the customer who pulls in for fuel and a coffee. It all starts with knowing what a store is really like at 6am.

Who we are

Convenience & Energy Advisors works at the intersection of consumer behavior, brand strategy, and convenience retail. We design and run the loyalty programs, marketing campaigns, and offers behind some of the most respected convenience and fuel brands in North America. We are a growing team with grit doing sophisticated work, where we touch programs that reach millions of customers in the downstream oil and convenience store industries.

What the work looks like

Monday you are in a boardroom presenting strategy to a CEO. Thursday you are standing in one of that CEO’s stores during a rollout, watching how the offer lands at the register, talking with the people running the shift, closing the gap between what we designed and what is actually happening on site.

Both matter. The second one is how we know the first one was right.

We have been in this business a long time and we still walk stores. That is not a story we tell. It is how we work.

What you will do

•   Build and run campaigns. Support the design, build, scheduling, and testing of loyalty offers and marketing campaigns across multiple marketing channels.

•   Turn data into decisions. Pull performance, build the recurring reporting our partners rely on, and bring a point of view on what the numbers are telling us.

•   Own the details. Offer configuration, segmentation, QA, and the unglamorous checks that keep a live program from breaking on a Saturday morning.

•   Validate reality on site. Join store visits during rollouts and launches. Watch the flow at the register, listen to the store team, and bring what you learn back into the design.

•   Support the room. Help prepare the strategy sessions, briefs, and decision documents we bring to marketing leaders and executive teams.

•   Automate what should be automated. Use AI to take the repeatable work off your plate and off ours, and share what you build with the team.

•   Lead two. You will direct two marketing services teammates. Quality control and priority calls run through you.

Who we are looking for

•   Grit. The pace is real. The brands we are thankful to partner with are sophisticated, and the people who thrive here get sharper when the work gets hard.

•   Store time in your background. You have actually worked in a convenience store/gas station

•   Curiosity. You keep asking why after everyone else has moved on.

•   Fluency with AI. You do not fear it. You have built an agent to handle something tedious, and you are already looking for the next thing to hand it.

•   A growth mindset. You intend to be visibly better six months from now.

We can teach you loyalty. We cannot teach you any of that.

What helps

•   One or more years in marketing, CRM, loyalty, or store operations.

•   A self-taught perspective on the North American convenience store/fuel market

•   Comfort in learning and understanding common convenience store technology point of sale and loyalty software

•   You would describe yourself as organized

•   Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Where and how

•   Location. On site in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida.

•   Travel. Occasional. Client sessions, store visits, rollouts, and industry events.

•   Compensation. Competitive base with performance-based rewards.

Why CEA

•   Growth, opportunity, and your voice matters.

•   A team that is curious by default and generous with what it knows.

•   Downtown St. Pete, which is a very good place to build a career.
