Description:

The Slate River Systemsโ€™ Senior Controls Systems Engineer will design and implement MHE controls systems. These systems vary in complexity and scope and may include, but are not limited to: Pallet Conveyor, Case Conveyor, Sortation, ASRS and AGVs control, and may interface with Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), Robot Control Systems (RCS), Traffic Management Programs, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems (SCADA).


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop standard controls hardware offerings as listed below but not limited to Standard Electrical Drawing Sets; Control Cabinets; Field Enclosures; Scanners, Scales, Profilers; Vision systems; Industrial Ethernet and Machine Communications; and Power Distribution.
  2. Assist Project Engineering with Pre-Sales Support; Lead Hardware and Software Tech reviews; Hardware Design, PLC Software, SCADA Design and Emulation; Field Commissioning; and Final Acceptance.
  3. Acts as a subject matter expert in hardware design/Mechanical Design as it relates to Controls systems.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS โ€“ EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

  1. Bachelorโ€™s degree in electrical, or related field with industry experience in controls engineering.


EXPERIENCE:

  1. 5+ Years of controls engineering experience directly related to material handling (Case/Poly Conveyor, Sortation Systems, Pallet Conveyor, AGVs, ASRS)
  2. Must have experience with communication to WCS systems
  3. Experience with Emulation packages such as Emulate3D
  4. Experience with Industrial Ethernet Applications
  5. Experience with Power distribution, FLA Calculations, and Efficiency Calculations
  6. Experience working with cross disciplinary project teams
  7. Experience with Designing Control Systems and hardware following NFPA and UL
  8. Experience with Safety Standard such as ISO13849


GENERAL SKILLS:

  1. Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
  2. Proficient in AutoDesk applications, mainly AutoCAD.
  3. Demonstrable strong expertise with PLC programing in Rockwell Studio 5000 and the ability to work with other PLC platforms such as CodeSys and Siemens.
