Job Description:

MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced Senior Controls Systems Specialist located in Urbandale, IA. Our client is a leading Building Automation industry leader looking for high-quality talent to make a difference. They are known to respect a traditional work week and often extend contracts for added job security and stability

Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Controls Systems Specialist to serve as the on-site project leader for HVAC and building automation control system projects. You will oversee design, programming, installation, commissioning, financials, customer communication, and project closeout—while providing guidance to technicians and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

Lead full lifecycle of HVAC/BAS control projects

Perform hardware design, software programming, and system commissioning

Manage project budgets, material procurement, billing, and profitability

Coordinate with electricians, technicians, designers, and subcontractors

Communicate project status and technical issues to customers

Ensure safety, compliance, documentation, and proper warranty execution

Train owners/operators on system functionality

Required Qualifications

Technical Associate’s Degree or 4+ years related HVAC field experience

Experience with digital HVAC controls, BAS, Access Control, Fire, or Video systems

Hands-on commissioning and systems design experience

Strong computer and communication skills

Ability to work independently and lead field teams

Preferred

Knowledge of HVAC systems, control theory, project accounting, and contracting

Duration: 03 Months with possibility of extension

Location:  Urbandale, IA 50322

Shift hours:  M-F, 01 shift hours
