What to Expect

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our Salem, NH plant, you will be a Controls Engineer.

The Controls Engineer will collaborate with the team of electrical and mechanical technicians on various capital projects. This role involves machine design, modifications, and support, as well as optimizing current processes and facility performance. A hands-on position, the Controls Engineer will be actively involved in new machine installations, process improvements, special projects, and operational support to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Keys Responsibilities (to name a few)
  • Utilize electrical and controls expertise to design, build, test, and troubleshoot control systems assisting manufacturing processes.
  • Provide advisory assistance to maintenance teams for troubleshooting and diagnosing production equipment issues.
  • Update control system schematics to reflect current equipment conditions.
  • Enhance existing control systems and develop new controls and logic programming to optimize manufacturing operations.
  • Assist in planning and executing equipment upgrade initiatives.
  • Program manufacturing equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, and database interfaces.
  • Evaluate potential suppliers and vendors, providing technical assessments to confirm the selection process.
About You
  • Bachelor's or Associate in Degree Electrical/Controls, preferred:
    •  Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, SCADA.
  • Prior experience with manufacturing equipment in electrical design, interface, and integration experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical controls, design and support.
  • Proficient in writing and modifying Allen Bradley PLC ladder logic programs, DC drive controllers, and variable frequency drive controllers.
  • Experience with Siemens PLCs and ABB or Toshiba drives is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Wonderware, and Ignition development programming.
  • Skilled in electrical CAD design and documentation using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks Electrical.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
