Job SummaryWe have an immediate opening for a Project Controls Manager for our Rail and Transit Sector. This position will interface closely with the Sector Manager, Project Managers and Project Accountants to manage the project accounting and financial operations reporting. The position will also work closely with client stakeholders and project subconsultants to coordinate administrative tasks.Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You'll Do:

  • General finance matters in support of New York/Northeast (NY/NE) Sector Manager.

  • Tracking and Status of A/R and WIP for the NY/NE area.

  • Preparation of input for financial forecasting and planning for the NY/NE area.

  • Review and tracking of all KPIs for the NY/NE area.

  • Support of Pricing and Capture processes.

  • Coordination with finance (month end close process, ensure accuracy and complete revenue and financial performance).

  • NY/NE area reporting (utilization, project status, financial, etc.).

  • Project Performance/Budget Analysis review.

  • Work directly with Project Managers to develop appropriate project set-up, implementation, and management of Project financial tracking and control systems, using Earned Value Management (EVM).

  • Support Project Managers in an assigned segment of the business.

  • Review of and recommendations to manage contract-specific requirements, regarding the staffing expectations by project for titles/rate caps to optimize project profitability.

  • Review of and recommendations to manage contract-specific requirements regarding payment terms, invoicing cycle, and invoicing requirements to reduce DSO, short-pays, and inaccurate/incomplete invoicing.

  • Foster billing and collections process set up at project inception to ensure client requirements and procedures are met, proper level of responsibility for team members are assigned, and action items/flow process is defined before project starts.

  • Work with Operations and Accounting groups and clients to track invoice progression and assist in working towards reducing overall A/R and WIP DSO.

  • Recommend updates to project dashboards to increase visibility of project commercial performance.

  • Support project teams with project financial reporting, develop Cost to Complete (CTC's) estimates, billing rate updates/escalation processes, invoicing and collections.

  • Assist in contract administration, changes, subcontracts administration, changes order development.

  • Prepare and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations as needed.

  • Meet regularly with appropriate project personnel to discuss support needs; and become familiar with key clients' processes for billings, approvals and collections.

  • Assist with compilation of CTC's and project Estimates-to-Complete (EAC's) monthly.

  • Coordination and support for overall area as it relates to Business Development, Human Resources, Legal and Finance.

  • Special projects as assigned.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in business/finance or engineering is preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of similar or related work experience required.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in finance and/or project accounting.

  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge of A/E/C financial systems and business dashboards preferred.

  • Strong communication skills required, including verbal, written, and listening.

  • Requires demonstrated ability to effectively interface with corporate colleagues, peers and superiors and to effectively coordinate externally with clients' staff -including management, subconsultants, project team and other stakeholders.
