Position Overview
The Controls Manager will support global planning, execution, and coordination of programs related to Controls and Software (SW) platform solutions. This role will serve as a key interface between Controls Systems and the Propulsion Systems community, ensuring alignment of controls features, rollout plans, and development activities across programs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide feasibility assessments and cost evaluations for Controls and Software solutions across vehicle programs.
  • Act as the primary interface representing Controls Systems (controllers and software) within the Propulsion Systems community.
  • Coordinate the development of Controls Features across programs and engineering teams.
  • Define feature rollout plans that align with program milestones, deliverables, and strategic objectives.
  • Support change management, quality assessment, and risk mitigation activities for Controls and Software.
  • Lead and mentor a team of controls engineers, fostering collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.
  • Ensure rigorous validation of control functions to meet or exceed technical and regulatory requirements throughout the vehicle development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to advance cutting-edge controls technologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in controls engineering processes, methodologies, and toolchains.
Qualifications & Skills Required
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex systems, delivering high-quality technical solutions.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, including at least 2 years in the automotive industry.
  • Ability to work effectively in an Agile development environment.
  • Previous experience as a Controls or Software developer (MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow, Embedded C), or experience as a testing or calibration engineer is a plus.
  • Strong ownership mindset, proactive attitude, and accountability for deliverables.
  • Familiarity with software development tools, debugging techniques, and model-based development processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in team-oriented environments.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.
