Salary Range: The full pay range for this role is $107,200 to $178,600 annually, and the good faith estimated starting pay for this position upon hire is $127,800 to $150,045 annually. We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location.

EDF Renewables is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Project Management team as a Projects Controls Manager.

The Project Controls Manager is responsible for performing essential Project Control responsibilities and associated reporting on projects assigned. As such, they will be responsible for the collection and analysis of project data related to cost, schedule, contract commitments, prepare and maintain project reports, ensuring accuracy and consistency in data presentation, maintain project documentation, and project plans, support the identification and assessment of project risks and assist in developing risk mitigation strategies pertaining to Project Controls scope.

The Project Controls Manager operates in close collaboration with Project managers and team members to gather critical relevant information and provide regular updates on project status. Additionally, they offer administrative support to the project management team, including tracking action items, and maintaining project files.

This role is key in maintaining the control budget, schedule and contract commitments as well as efficiency and effectiveness of our project controls processes. The Project Controls Manager's contributions ensure that projects stay in course, budget is managed proactively, and data driven decisions can be made confidently.

Responsibilities
  • Project Managementย 
    • Planningย 
      • Develop and/or monitor and maintain project schedules, and the related assumptions, perform logic network planning ensuring alignment with project objectives and milestones.
      • Accountable for accurate and timely progress reports, including variance analysis, critical path, schedule adherence summary and detail schedules.
      • Participate in project hand over from Development to Implementation and to Generation. Coordinate documentation with DBS or Tax Equity investor.
      • Analyze schedule updates, review critical path, review schedule performance indicators, review schedule variances from last update and baseline. Recommend corrective actions when necessary.
      • Incorporate approved project schedule changes into project master schedule.
      • Responsible for managing, coordinating, and collaborating with all stakeholders while developing schedule.
  • Project Controls Processesย 
    • Research and benchmark internal and external best practices and trends in project controls, identifying opportunities for innovation, and improvement in project controls processes and tools.
    • Implement and improve project control processes, procedures, and tools, and provide training and coaching to project managers and project teams.
    • Use internal and external processes and tools to assure project costs, schedule and controls based on parent experience and industry references.
  • Cost Controlย 
    • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of cost management program for the projects, including estimated and approved budget, total commitments, cost incurred and invoiced costs. Work closely with project team to forecast project costs during project execution using Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS).
    • Implement Cost Control processes to support project management and delivery within budget, including recording, tracking and reporting of costs vs. measurement of progress.
    • Manage interfaces with the Financial & Accounting Team.
    • Quality Control (QC) and analysis of project controls deliverables including Estimate at Completion (EAC) changes, JCR and CTs.
  • Contracts Management and Administrativeย 
  • Contracts Management
    • Contract Compliance (on all contracts/goddesses) Some specific examples below:
    • PPA COD Tracking
    • Contract reporting requirements
    • Bonding/Surety Requirements
    • Change Order (COARFs), Contract Approval Request Forms(CARFs) Amendments (AARFs), SOWs, Exhibit Finalization, etc. including facilitation and track completion
    • Administer contracts, manage counterparties, and ensure compliance with EDF Renewables, Inc. (EDFR) and the counterparty.
    • Responsible for routing agreements/documents for signatures.
    • Deploy and maintain contracts compliance register; track contractual obligations to satisfactory execution.
    • Provide contract Interpretations and recommendations to the PM.
    • Collaborate with Department Administrative Personnel to enter purchase requisitions and perform invoice reception in SAP/Malbec.
  • Information Management
    • Responsible for managing project hub for project management documents.
    • Support project finance for Tax Equity/DSSA Coordination, due diligence and all documentation requests.
    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and other relevant project records.
  • Project Reporting
    • Prepare and issue project reports, dashboard, and summaries as required by Management and Stakeholders, clearly communicating key project information, performance and progress.
    • Assimilate project data for monthly or other frequency customer and internal reports; create reporting graphics and tables using Power BI or other graphical software.
    • Coordinate, and follow-up on day-to-day activities of the project team, such as but not limited to, previous meetings action items closure; answer to notifications and requests for information, contractual deliverable delivery, etc.
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge project performance in terms of cost, schedule, and risk. Regularly report on project, and portfolio performance against these metrics.
    • Variance Analysis: Analyze discrepancies between planned and actual project performance, and provide timely feedback to project managers, project team, and management.
    • Change Management: Assess the impact of scope changes on project schedule, budgets, providing analysis of the impacts.
    • Coordinate and communicate with project managers, project team, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and effectively delivery of project objectives.
  • Initiatives and Other duties as assigned :
    • May be assigned to directly manage and be responsible for elements of a project (substation, transmission line, complex analysis, etc.). This includes direct management of cross functional teams, budget, schedule responsibilities, and interfacing with external parties.
    • Specific efficiency or reporting improvement initiatives that affects GSP organization.
Working Conditions:

Approximately 75% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers, telephones, and general office equipment. 25% occasional project site visits or travel to regional offices or headquarters, which requires standing, walking, and able to document/measure existing conditions.ย  Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

QualificationsEducation/Experience:
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in project controls management for large capex infrastructure, power generation or Renewable Energy projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project Suite, etc.
  • Experience in using project controls tools and processes, such as earned value management (EVM), change management, risk management, etc.
  • Experience in managing databases, dashboards, reports, and automations for project data management and analysis.
  • Experience within the Renewables Industry preferred
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and people skills a must.
  • Advance understanding of project controls methodologies and techniques, such as scheduling, cost control, risk management, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices, especially in the energy infrastructure sector.
  • Proficiency in project management software, such as MS Project, Primavera, and other relevant tools such as, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other Office software.
  • Proficiency in SQL or equivalent database language.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
