Position Overview
The Embedded Controls Intern will support the engineering team in the development, testing, and maintenance of embedded control systems used in plasma cutting equipment. This role is focused onassistingwith software and controls-related tasks that support product development and troubleshooting activities. The intern will work under the direct mentorship of David Hunter and will gain hands-on experience in real-world engineering applications.
Key Responsibilities
-Assistwith embedded software development and code organization
- Support debugging and troubleshooting of inverter control systems
- Develop and execute test scripts and validation activities
- Collect and organize test data for engineering analysis
-Maintainfirmware and controls documentation
- Support controls integration activities (ex: Beckhoff systems)
- Provide hands-on lab support for testing and troubleshooting
- Support ongoing development projects including A130 and inverter improvements
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Basic understanding of embedded systems and control logic
- Familiarity with programming concepts (C/C++, PLC, or similar)
- Comfortable working hands-on in a lab environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with embedded firmware or PLC-based systems
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, approximately40 hoursper week. This role is based on-site in the engineering lab in West Lebanon, NH.
Pay Range:
$47,051.00-$54,089.00
